Just thought I would type up a few thoughts on the premiere of Big Brother 14.
On the new cast: I think the cast is great this year. I think that there are a lot of diverse personalities and that things are going to get really intense in the house this season.
On the mentors: I’m really liking the mentors twist. I think in last night’s episode Britney got the best three picks when they were picking their teams. Although I think Willie is going to give her major problems. Dan definitely got the worst picks out of everybody. I do think he should’ve went with Ian on his first pick over Kara. Ian is a player that could play more like Dan. Boogie did get some potential with Frank. Jenn didn’t do so well in the competition last night but I guess we’ll have to see how she performs in other competitions. After watching some of the feeds Janelle’s team seems to be strong. Everyone in the house seems to like Wil. Joe comes off as pretty likable. Not sure where Ashley stands with the house yet. On the feeds yesterday, she was upset because she felt like people were running away from here.
On the first eviction: I felt really bad for Jodi. After going through the whole casting process and finally moving into the house and then being evicted on the first night must be rough. She is a big superfan of the show and I think she would’ve been really interesting to watch. I do think Dan ultimately made the right decision for his team since he’s going to be down in numbers already.
On the first HOH: It should be interesting to see how Willie’s week as HOH plays out and if Britney will regret her decision of making him the first HOH. I don’t think he really cares about her game and he wants to do what he wants to do. He nominated Frank and Kara already but he has also made a deal with Frank even though Britney and Janelle want Frank gone this week.
I loved seeing Ian starting to realize that Willie is related to Russell Hantz. I knew he would be the first to realize it because he mentioned it in his pre-season interview. Dan also realized it but Willie denied it. It hasn’t even been mentioned on the feeds really so I think the houseguests might have actually bought it even though they might still have a suspicion.
I thought the competition last night looked really hard. It seemed exhausting especially if you kept falling off like JoJo and Jodi. I think Janelle said it at one point, but the key was to belly flop onto the bed because if you just jump it’s easier to lose your balance.
Also, on Sunday’s episode we will see a coaches competition that they teased at the end of yesterday’s episode. Another power will be introduced in the game. From what I heard on the feeds Mike Boogie won it and Ian is apparently exempt from being nominated. It should be interesting to see play out!
